Most scientists answers that question with an emphatic "No!", saying that everything that is happening is normal. Does everything really is normal, or what is happening is just a harbinger of something bigger that will happen?
For this brief paper, I have data and information that can analyze with caution, if indeed we are faced with signs that indicate the most anticipated event of all time: the return of Christ. The site
Yahoo News, in January 2010, reported the following: "According to a study sponsored by the UN, almost 60% of the estimated 780,000 deaths in disasters occurred between 2000 and 2009 due to earthquakes. Hurricanes were responsible for 22% of all deaths while the extreme temperatures caused 11% of deaths in 3852 reported disasters over the period studied. The researchers expressed their concern over climate disasters, whose number was double compared to the previous decade. "
Brother Michelson Borges reported on its website Creationism, the following information:" Japan has had 10 major earthquakes (above 6.5 on the Richter scale) between 1900 and 2000. Between 2001 and 2011 was 12. "
Similar to this information, the site Hypescience said: "Some scientists, however, claim that the Earth is more 'active' in the last 15 years than it was in a near past ... Although the majority held that the Earth is behaving normally, the number of tremors recorded is greater in the last 15 years. "
These data led me to research on a biblical passage found in Luke, which says:" ... there will be great earthquakes in many places "Luke 21:11. In this verse we find two significant terms that may clarify some doubts: 1) there will be great earthquakes - the term used in Greek for large megs is very used to describe major events - means that would increase the destructive power of earthquakes, 2) in many places - the Greek term used is tops among its various meanings, is "inhabited place, as a city, village, district." Taking into account this information, it appears that one of the signs of Christ's return is the occurrence of large (mega) earthquakes in inhabited places (topos), such as cities, towns, etc.. Perhaps thinking about this was that Ellen White wrote: "...[ Satan] will bring disease and disaster, until populous cities are reduced to ruin and desolation. In accidents and calamities by sea and land routes in earthquakes .... everywhere and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. " The Great Controversy, pp. 637-639. "I declare the order of the message, saying the cities ... will be destroyed by earthquakes, by fire and flood. Everyone will be warned that there is a God who will demonstrate His divine authority. Their invisible instruments will cause destruction, devastation and death. All the accumulated wealth will be like nothing. "Evangelism, pg. 27.
See this statement was published on the site Hypescience : "According to the researchers, is the frequency nor the intensity of earthquakes is different, just the disaster is greater. How? It is because the quakes are happening in places more populous. "Realize that it corroborates the thesis presented in the previous paragraph.
is true that the man began to measure the intensity and frequency of earthquakes just over a century, and in geological terms, it is hardly time to draw up conclusions. Therefore, said physicist Joseph Umberto Travaglia, coach of Seismological Observatory of UnB: "You can not say that we're in an era of even more severe tremors that are not." R7
This statement is perhaps the most sensible. However, some data makes us alert, see:
The table below shows the number of earthquakes that occurred from 2000 to 2011.
Not included is the official death toll from the earthquake Japan
The table below shows the number of earthquakes that occurred from 1990 to 1999.
Source: U.S. Geological Survey National Earthquake Information Center
Taking into account the years between 1990 to 1999, the average is 19578.2 earthquakes earthquakes per year. Between the years 2000 to 2009 the average is 23,250. This does not seem so worrisome. However if we look at other data, we have only one conclusion: between the years 1990 to 1999 was 06 (six) earthquakes above 8.0 on the Richter scale, while between 2000 to 2009 was 13 (thirteen). An increase of more than 100%. Another worrying statistic is the number of dead. Between the years 1990 to 1999 the deaths were caused by earthquakes of between 114,646 and 471,015 were from 2000 to 2009. These results corroborate the theory that earthquakes are more destructive (megs) and deadly, for the increase in deaths explanation is that the earthquakes occurred in more populated places (cities - tops). Conclusion
If we consider these data, we are fully convinced that we are very close to Christ's return, especially by the fact that not only are these signs that point to it, but a series of other events that are happening simultaneously . For example:
Signs in Nature: Earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.. (Matthew 24:8, Luke 21:11 and 25-26)
Signs in society: corruption, immorality, violence, etc.. (II Timothy 3:1-4)
Signs in the religious world: religion returned to the world stage and seems here to stay. Recently the site of the Globe published an article which, in summary, he advised: "Adopt a religion and be happy." (Matthew 24:24).
So we are very near the end of all things. I believe that our real need is not boasting, but to seek God in prayer and cry out for a revival of true godliness among the people of God. Want to do this? Then click here .
A Hope remains
